TERRAIN
Performance by Edie Bailey
With Live Sound Design by Fraser Owen
An organism awakes under the earth, its body creaks into movement and sound emerges from the soil. It struggles to stand and to walk, but it is drawn to the sun. It drinks in the feeling of being alive. But its life is short. It must return to the soil. Though it feels so good to breathe.
This performance was created in response to James Dolan's TERRAIN installation at Battersea Arts Centre, as part of TERRAIN: PULSE. Using experimental vocal techniques, live vocal processing and noise-informed sound design, this performance was a live improvisation that built a sonic and narrative landscape.
